Dedede's character really stepped up its Badassery with this battle.

When the music begins and he yells and grabs that Axe.....SO EPIC!!!!

WHY MASKED DEDEDE NOT A SKIN IN SMASH!?!?

He's probably going to take up his own character slot in the next one, along with RED PIT.

Red pit.....huh?

Well if Masked D D D gets a slot, then so should Galactaknight.

Hey if they can flood smash 4 with Fire emblem characters i see no problem with adding in two more Kirby characters.

Red Pit was a joke on a Vinesauce stream at the expense of Dark Pit. Truly the most useless character to get his own slot. It wouldn't even be a bad thing if he had got his own moveset. Maybe regular Pit could have kept his extremely annoying swirly attack. And Dark could lose the bow & arrow and get one of those cannons that were all over the place in Kid Icarus Uprising.

All these things that were mentioned just need to be skins!

I couldnt agree more masked dedede is at most a skin though Galacta Knight is hard considerinh he isnt completely a reskin....he carries a shield and a lance, though I've seen some modders do it the shield doesnt do anything, Now The New Morpho Knight....he is just begging to be a skin for Meta Knight alongside Dark meta Knight, mostly because Morpho knight is literally Meta knights Beta design.

This entire game was so epic, I swear. The entire final act of Triple Deluxe surpassed everything that was in a previous Kirby game. I love how you captured that feeling.

Kirby is so nostalgic for me. I still remember when I first played Kirby's Dreamland when I was little. Having only played platformers such a Super Mario Bros. and Metroid, I was completely in awe when I found out that pressing up made Kirby fly. I had never played a game with a flying creature before and it was so magical. Then Kirby's Adventure comes out and that awesome flying dude suddenly has the ability to copy the powers of his enemies and it just blew me away!

Anyways, I love the tribute, DeDeDe looks amazing! I don't care if I'm a grown up man, the Kirby series will always have a special place in my heart!

You were there from the start, way to go! My encounter wasn't as momentous but Kirby's Dreamland 2 was my first game ever, so there's nostalgia for me too I guess.

It almost sounds silly to say but if Kirby does one thing right it's 'cool'. Between Meta Knight and all the Dark Matter battles, Nintendo's little pink ball has always been 'cooler' than Mario or Link. Dare I say even those soundtracks always kick way more ass than Mario.

I think I was around 6 years old and we had gone on a camping trip with some friends. We all brought our Game Boy Pockets and my friend let me play Kirby's Dreamland. After that, I fell in love with it and went and bought it.

DeDeDe, dare I say, is one of my favorites. He's so ambiguous at times. There will be times where he'll seem so selfish, yet he will be thinking for the good of others at times. When I first played Kirby's Adventure, even though it was such a simple story, that game was what made me like him so much because you see his good intent, though it's shrouded by Kirby's impulsiveness. I remember just having nights where I would play Kirby's Adventure late at night, playing a level in Rainbow Resort, and just hitting the pause screen and just stopping to listen to the music. Honestly, I could gush on the series for ages. It played a huge part of my childhood.

Also... I never played Dreamland 2. I remember seeing it in stores all the time, but my mom never bought it and back then, I was a more outdoorsy person. I know you drew this picture for fun, but it brought back some good memories too.

Ha ha, I played Dreamland 2 on somebody else's Gameboy at summer camp before I actually owned it myself. Apparently getting hooked on Kirby meets very specific requirements.

I always liked Dedede as my rival, as when he joined your team in Kirby 64 I rolled my eyes like, "oh brother", but I can see where you're coming from. Since Dreamland 2 was my first and only game, and since I did suck at my first and only game, I thought Dedede was just the villain for the longest time because I didn't collect all the star bits. I'd go to my save file and refight him constantly, listening to the music, etc., but when I finally did get all those star bits when I was bored one day it blew my mind that Dedede was possessed, and that Kirby got a SWORD, and that you could fight that kickass battle in the sky with a masked dude in a cape, and that the masked dude further turned into a giant eyeball and you had to beat it in a limited amount of time falling back to earth before you burned up in the atmosphere, and asdfghjk!

The second game was such a drastic improvement that it was hard to finally go back and play Dreamland, which didn't even have a save system and could be beaten in one sitting. I'm genuinely sad that I didn't play it first and missed the experience since I probably would have loved it as a kid. On the other hand the same can be said for anyone that plays Dreamland 2 today. It's probably way too simplistic even by Kirby standards and they're going to wonder "What's the big deal?". Not that any of this is a bad thing. Kirby keeps improving. Return to Dreamland amazed me like a kid again with its final battle, and this newest game is like Return to Dreamland x5. And you can thank Kirby for all of that, not me. Or HAL, whatever.

The only way one gets into Kirby is by stealing their friend's games and trying them for themselves. Sounds legit.

I missed out on the whole DeDeDe getting possessed thing for the most part myself. I missed Dreamland 2 and I never owned an SNES, so the next game I played after Adventure was Kirby 64, so going from no powers to having powers to combining powers was huge for me. After seeing how DeDeDe was in Adventure for myself, I guess it impacted me more to actually get to kinda play as him. Seeing him go from villain to helper in the background to proactively saving the (solar system?) was character developing for me considering what I had played. With Meta Knight though, I remember being confused about him for the longest time as I had missed playing Super Star. I remember people obsessing over him and I would just scratch my head and ask why. He was the guy who gave me the invincibility candy, made me fight a lot of dudes, and gave me a hard time when I went one on one with him. It'd make me realize, yeah, he was neat, but why do people make such a huge deal out of him. Of course now, I think the dude is amazing.

I still go back a lot and will play through Kirby's Adventure. That game had the most impact on me as a kid. That was the first game that really made me love playing video games. Its soundtrack is still amazing for its time. Speaking of Kirby soundtracks, Kirby has some amazing music. I still listen frequently to Kirby 64's and Super Star's OST, and I love the different feel that Kirby's Epic Yarn brought. When I get the chance, I got to go and get the new Kirby game. It looks like so much fun and I've heard good things about it. They need to bring yo-yo Kirby back though.

Remember kids, stealing is what sustains dreamland. If you don't Kirby will DIE.

How did you miss Dedede getting possessed when it's happened like 800 times now? xD Yes, the double powers is like a magical can of worms Nintendo is too afraid to open more than once, i.e. Mario Kart Double Dash. It frustrated me at the time since getting 100% on Kirby 64 was way more trial and error-y when you had to match TWO powers for already context sensitive situations, but now realizing how simple Kirby games are I appreciate it. I also don't think it was dickish enough as a move as when previous games required a power to get the hidden item but the power was nowhere to be found in the level. And of course Meta Knight was popular, he was designed to be COOL. Ha ha, reading about the development team in the anniversary game for Wii and how they came up with ideas was endearing in a childish sort of way. "Our idea for Kirby's Dreamland: FLYING!", "Our idea for Kirby's Dreamland 2: FRIENDS!" And yes, the complex thought process behind Meta Knight's character design, "COOL!"

Ho ho, Return to Dreamland and Triple Deluxe had my favorite soundtracks yet. If you don't agree you at least won't be disappointed. Just watching the intro cinematic made me want to wreck shit up. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZfhOl… (And no, I'm not talking about the Kirby sleeping and fishing part. :P)
Why have yo-yo Kirby when you can have CLOWN KIRBY in the new game?? ......................... Okay, yeah, they need to bring it back.

Of course. It gets real when you steal Kirby's cake!

Well, I've seen him get possessed NOW, but I didn't know back then that's what he enjoyed doing in his spare time when he wasn't stealing food. Oh man, Crystal Shards and 100%ing. I was 12 I think when the game came out. I remember that two shards that got to me. The first one was the one where you needed dynamite. So hard considering I didn't know at the time you could press down to save yourself from the explosion. Still don't know how I pulled that one off back then. Then the one where you needed the useless lightning rod ability in the cloud level! Sucked so hard! I still loved the level design in the game though. The stone/cutter ability with the animal friends was awesome. My favorites were between the double jedi sword and the explosive ninja stars. Playing through Kirby's Dreamland 3 a couple of years ago for my first time, 100%ing that was a pain! Still, both games having eyeballs spewing blood was amazing, so I suppose the reward was worth it. I got the Anniversary edition as soon as it came out. Sadly, I still haven't touched on Kirby's Dreamland 2 though. Shame on me... =(

I'd wreck sleeping Kirby... oh wait. Nah, I agree with Return to Dreamland, the soundtrack is amazing. Of course, I always find myself gushing when they add remixed songs from older Kirby games into the fray. So yeah, I gushed a ton at the songs at the end of Epic Yarn and got ecstatic when I heard remixes of Grape Garden (still my fav. from Kirby's Adventure) and Kine's theme in Return to Dreamland. Seriously though, the songs do seem to get better and better. Chalk it up to nostalgia though, but I still think Kirby 64's boss theme is my downright favorite. As for Triple Deluxe, I'm going to wait until I get the game before listening to the music. I've been having to learn not to spoil myself on soundtracks on games I don't own. It kinda ruins the freshness of the experience of playing the game for the first time once I own it. The graphics for the game look really good though and I can't wait to try it for myself.

I'm such a nerd. Kirby is one of the few franchises I could gush about all day.
