It's like when you thought you were the only one that knew about Final Fantasy but then the internet happened, and also popularity, and then that whole series snowballed out of control.
Dunno know how inane bringing all the continents back from the depths is but the other stuff sucks. (I wonder how a virus sinks land masses...)
Thanks for the resurrected memories.
I have no idea what they could have accomplished after this but at least they went off on a very high note. Maybe they needed more two-day weekends...
But hey, ART! I love it, man! Also one of the stand-out moments of the game. I mean, it's right at the beginning, but I like how it starts with this freaky underworld and all these questions.
Hey, man, starting off a game with Mode 7 is a good way to get your attention. Thanks for the interest! I like lots of things about it as well. I was trying to explain how I enjoyed the use of simple concepts to get me emotionally invested and I used leading-the-little-lion-cub-around as an example, i.e. being stuck at the bottom of the cliff listening to him fighting then BAM followed by silence. I was like noooooooo! Then I was like, awww. Then I tried to make out with the game because it's hot.
"Emotionally invested" are certainly the words for this game! you already linked to the underworld theme (one of my favorites) but those sequences at the end of every underworld tower - and the accompanying music (www.youtube.com/watch?v=XS8pHm…) - always freakin' gets me. I think my favorite part of the game will always be the world before humans, though. Wandering around the empty world and bringing back all the animals 'n plants 'n such. Almost felt a little lonely when the humans came back and you lose your ability to talk to the animals.
*sniff* I miss this game! I should play it again. Bring out all the feels. I'ma clean it off first though, since you been all makin' out with it. (I'm joking, it was a beautiful moment, man).
The game is beautiful, no matter how much saliva gets on it.
