Looking at these Empire-standard-issue leotard- sorry "armors" it must be Gestahl who decides the dress code.

Kefka would give them their fancier (yet actually in a way more practical) outfits, or at least full coverage and padding.

And anyone else would give them ACTUAL FUCKING ARMOR.

Ah, Celes... the *real/hidden* protagonist of FFVI. I always loved her the most, if only because of her cape and the Opera. XD

I think I'd already realized this in the back of my mind, but a lot of early FF women like leotards, at least in their sprites. Must be some kind of old school fashion statement in that era. Anyway, I always loved using Celes. She was like a second Terra, minus the transformation thingy.

You called her a second Terra...
That means you don't consider Celes as a character? Q__Q
She's just a Terra clone to you Q__Q

No, that's not it. XD I meant in gameplay, since they're very similar aside from their special skills.

I rarely ever used runic, in fact I only used it in escaping south Figaro. But she's still a great fighter.

That's a pretty good design. I would just make the grip a bit longer.

The blonde hair and leotard. Fights in an army. I am convinced that Celes was an inspiration for the Alexandrian Soldiers in FF9.

Locke probably put in that backstory for himself on purpose, just to throw you off the scent.  He's all like: "I need to protect you 'cause I failed to protect someone else!"  Nah.  Two ladies with shoulder pads, leotards, and legs fo' dayz?  It's okay, Locke.  You got a thing.  We won't judge.

Anyway: Ah, Celes.  With Terra, you have a magic cannon.  With Celes, you've got the "uuuhh...should I just blast them with magic, or have her do NOTHING but play the hope-you-cast-magic-at-me game?"  It works for those few bosses where you can predict when they'll cast something devastating, but otherwise, I usually just skip it and go for kill kill KILL.

Always did like Celes, especially her introduction.  It was really refreshing that a woman could be savagely beaten on screen in a video game, which really made me jump and treat the entire game with a healthier respect.  I am immeasurably sad that the beating was removed, as it set tone for how fierce her convictions were and explained her low level (her bones were knitting) at recruitment.

And then there was the Star Wars Stormtrooper joke.

Her emotional journey was incredible.  Especially the first time I played the game on Solitary Island, when I didn't know about the fish.  That was powerful.  But now that I know about it I always grab the healthy ones to rub Kefka's nose in it when meeting him for the last time.

But I always wondered why a general never wore armor any better than a leotard.  Japan logic?

A lime-green swimsuit, high-heeled boots, and once again the impractical shoulder pads. What the hell, Gestahl. I'd call the fashion police on the Empire, but they'd probably have a heart attack upon seeing Kefka.

I still think she should be the main character of 6. Also that she can do a lot better then Locke a guy who believed an insane clown when he said Celes was on the empire's side the whole time.

Oh hey, you exist again. How's life been? :)

(General in a leotard and high heels... I always wondered.)

My existence is only an illusion, don't let it fool you. Life is fine though!

Looking at Terra I'm starting to think that's an Empire-standard-issue leotard. Those evil masterminds!!!
